Bedroom Pillow Styling

We all drool over the perfectly styled beds we see online and in magazines and today we are here to help you achieve that perfect, put together look. Once you've landed on your favourite bedding or quilt and have decided on the furniture for your room, the last finishing touch comes down to beautiful, eye catching pillows that beg you to fall asleep on.

Let's break things down. Below are some tips depending on the size of bed in your room. 

QUEEN BED

Start with two large pillows back against the headboard. We suggest using nothing smaller than a size 22" x 22". This size will create a good visual and will span the width of your bed appropriately. Our favourite choice for the pillow combo style below is our double sided linen Lina pillow in a size 24" x 24". 

Next step is to place your sleeping pillows. These can be situated, stacked, behind the larger square pillows or placed upright in front. If you choose the later, add in a set of square 20"pillows to add some dimension. This is optional and not always necessary. We just have a thing for pillows so the more the merrier!

Lastly, add a little pop of colour, texture or something interesting! A rectangular lumbar pillow is the perfect solution in a 14" x 20" or 16" x 24"size.

Voila! You're queen bed pillow styling is complete!

KING BED 

King beds call for larger pillows to ensure the scale of your pillow combo doesn't fall flat. Start off with at least 2, 24" square pillows, followed by either an extra large rectangular lumbar pillow or one 20" square pillow infront.

We styled our king bed combo below with a beautiful Large Sage Bhujodi Lumbar pillow. This standalone lumbar pillow adds such a statement so we decided to pair our Sandy Linen pillows with it to allow it to shine. 

TWIN BED

Twin beds are a piece of cake and can easily be accessorized with either a single rectangular lumbar pillow or in combination with a square 22" pillow. Simple and classic. 

FULL BED

A full sized bed can follow the same rules as that of a queen bed. The 3 pillow combo below is the perfect trio to dress up a bed of this size. Using a smaller lumbar pillow (14” x 20”) in front of the square pillows is also a really great way to get that clean and classic look! We paired our staple Mica Pillow and Naga Pillows for this combo. This look is a personal fav!
